The end of the year is an opportunity for many to take some vacation. Therefore, we want to take the opportunity to suggest how to set up an automatic holiday answer to your Servage e-mail so that you can relax properly and devote yourself to other things than answering e-mails.
-

Email verification is a feature found on almost every website with a login system. Some PHP frameworks come with a built-in email verification, but in case you are using one that does not, you will have to use some other ready-made solution like a library or to build it from scratch. Building the system by yourself also gives you more freedom and flexibility to customize it for your needs.
The Process Explained
Here is how email verification often works in PHP applications: When a user signs up, their data, such as email address, password and name, are inserted into a database. Along with this data, a unique email verification token is stored in ...

Have you ever wondered how big websites handle email sending within their PHP applications? Popular websites can send hundreds of thousands, even millions of emails to their users each month. Instead of sending so many emails locally on a web server, it is recommended to use an infrastructure that is built specifically for sending emails. The ability to send emails from within your web application is essential to almost any website or system. This rather trivial task is sometimes complicated by relatively unreliable libraries and unstable sending methods. If you have been around PHP for a while, you will probably remember the old days using the native "mail" function in PHP with Sendmail. Fortunately a lot has happened over the recent years, and great options for easy email sending (and receiving) have been well adopted in most frameworks.
Laravel includes an email sending API built upon the common and very popular Swift Mailer library. It provides all the basic sending capabilities and is wrapped into a nice object ...

Staying in touch with your users is key to long-term success for any web project. The goal is to provide users a service which updates them on relevant information, while your real goal is usually to generate more traffic to your site - either for pageviews/ad displays or new orders/purchases. Sending the right newsletter to the right recipients can make a great difference, however, only if perceived well by your users. Simply spamming as many email addresses you can get your hands on will not help you. That tactic usually backfires and generates more trouble than good.
Sending to the right recipients
Generally speaking you should send newsletters to selected users instead of all ...

Email campaigns are essential parts of online marketing. If we take modular approaches to the customization of the email development by incorporating custom frameworks, we can increase our productivity by many times in our email campaigns. We have a number of options to do marketing of our products or mobile apps in the marketplaces. With new technologies and platforms coming regularly, we get many opportunities to reach to the prospective customers. However, it is a proven fact that the age-old email marketing practices still yield high conversion-rates and should not be neglected.
Optimising campaigns to meet the most effective email designs is still needed. Shooting large numbers of email makes little ...

Last fall Servage introduced global server-side spam- and virus-filtering. The anti-spam functionality is powered by a customizable SpamAssassin system, which enables you to set an own set of rules for the handling of junk mail. The virus filter is powered by ClamAV which removes any email that includes malware. Since its introduction the system has identified hundreds of thousands of unsolicited mails being sent to email accounts hosted at Servage.
In the meantime a number of customers have requested a filtering option to allow even more advanced and powerful rules for email-handling. With filters one could for example automatically collect messages from a specific sender, addressed to a specific recipient, containing certain words ...
