Catch-All
Default account or known as catch-all is type of the email account which is used to receive all emails that are addressed to an incorrect or misspelled email address for a domain. Its the useful feature as we might miss the important emails if the sender types of our email address incorrectly at the of mail sent and this default email address will catch it and email will end into default email account.
Servage allows to set any name for the default email account instead of fixed category like other control panels, eg. incoming@domain.net. This default email account have advantage that it is like having unlimited aliases for the email addresses of your domain.
How it works :
Lets say someone sends you an email but mis-spelled your email address. Instead of maxmustermann@domain.net, the email was addressed to maxmustermann@domain.net. This time email wont bounce back and it will be cought by the default email account ie incoming@domain.net and can be accessed from there.
Steps to set default email account from servage panel :
- Login into your servage panel
- Click on the Default Account option available under the Email Tab
- Choose exact site name for which you want to enable default account
- Mention your default account name in the section “Default email address” and click on save.
Email forwards
Email forwarding refers to the operation of re-sending an email message delivered to one email address to one or more different email addresses.
The term forwarding has no specific technical meaning, but it implies that the email has been moved “forward” to a new destination.
Email forwarding allows you to forward email from an email address at your domain to another address.
For example, you could create an address email@yourdomain.com to forward mail to your current Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc. address where you would actually pick it up.
How Email Forward Works:
Forwarding email addresses allow you to automatically direct incoming email messages to another email address. There is no inbox for a forwarding email address, and nothing is stored. It redirects any email messages sent to your forwarding email address to the other email address you specified.
You can create a new email forwarding address at your domain by following these steps:
- Login to your Servage Control Panel.
- Click on Email forwards option available under the Email Tab.
- Choose exact site name for which you want to add Email forwards.
- Click on the “Add Forwarders” button.
- In the “Email Address” field, enter in the name of the address you would like forwarded.
- In the “Forward to/Destination” field enter in the destination email address you would like it forwarded to and click on Save.
AutoReply
AutoReply feature allows you to automatically send response messages in reply to incoming emails received on a specific email account. This is pretty useful when you are on holidays or unavailable, or if you have any generic messages to send:
- login to the control panel
- Email accounts
- Push the ‘EDIT’ option in front of email address
- Enter the Subject of the mail and mail content, save the changes.Enter the Subject of the mail and mail content, save the changes.
