make_own_pluginGoogle Analytics is a free and powerful tool that helps you analyze the traffic to your website and, for example, find out how many visitors you have per day, where the visits come from, how long visitors stay, which pages visitors visit the most, and so on. You can also use Analytics to segment your customers and understand in more detail what works for which customer.

In this way, you can easily follow up if the content on your website appeals to your current / future customers, or if there is something that needs to be honed.

Below we describe how to quickly link your WordPress page to Google Analytics in three simple steps.

Create a Google Analytics account

  • Go to https://www.google.com/analytics and click Start for free.
  • Sign in with your Google account and select “Sign up for free”.
  • Then follow the instructions to create your Google Analytics account.
  • When asked “What do you want to measure?” select Web and then fill in your website’s name, web address, industry and time zone.
  • Then tap Create and read / accept the terms of use. Clear!

Install a Google Analytics plugin on your WordPress page

  • Log in to the WordPress control panel and click on Add / Plugins> Add new.
  • Search for “Google Analytics” and choose to install the plugin “Google Analytics Dashboard for WP by ExactMetrics (formerly GADWP)”.
  • Then click Activate.

Link your Google Analytics account to your WordPress page

  • Go to the WordPress control panel and select Plugins and then Settings for the Google Analytics plugin you just installed.
  • Choose Authorize Plugin> Get access code.
  • Sign in with the Google Account you linked to Analytics and click Allow.
  • Copy the code that appears and paste it into the Access Code box in WordPress.
  • Save the changes. Now all the analysis data for your website will be displayed in your control panel in WordPress!
