le-logo-standardWhat is Let’s Encrypt and why would you need it:  Let’s Encrypt is a non-profit certificate authority run by Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). It is a SSL certificate which  protects your customers  information – such as passwords, usernames, and credit card numbers. Furthermore, your user can see the green lock icon on their browser and know you run a protection for your pages. Last but not least, SSL certificates are also one of the factors search engines, such as Google, use to determine where a website appears in search results.

Servage offers Let’s Encrypt for free. To get your free Let’s Encrypt, do the following:

  • log in to your Servage account
  • go to go to Domains and Websites → SSL certificates (Let’s Encrypt)
  • push the green button “Add”
  • A new window opens up where you can choose the host on which you want to install your Let’s Encrypt from a drop down menu:

  • As soon as you chose the host on which yo want to install Let’s Encrypt, push the button “Add”.

The activation of the SSL may take about 30 minutes.
