Servage account – Create an email alias

What is an email alias, and why do you need one?Screenshot_2020-02-05 Servage - Email accounts 1000850

An email alias is a way to create an additional name for your email account. This allows you to create alternative email addresses without having to create another email box.  For example, you may want to be able to set up a temporary address to receive responses to an invitation to a party to make it all a little more festive. Or maybe you want an extra address you give out to your customers and another you use privately if you want to split it all into two physical accounts in the future.

An email alias makes it possible to have multiple email addresses for the same email account. You have e.g. the mail address testforblog@servageguide.de and you want mails for admin@servageguide.de, service@servageguide.de and noinfo@servageguide.de sent to that mail address.

If you have already set up your email account on your phone or computer then you do not need to change anything there if you add an alias.

What you need to add an email alias:

  • log in to your Servage account and select “EMail”
  • Choose the domain for which you want to work on the e-mail alias
  • push the button for that e-mail account. You can now choose the tap “Aliases”

Enter the e-mail addresses you want to create as an alias. All email to these addresses is forwarded to your regular email account. Note that you cannot create an alias with the same address that you already have for your mailbox at Servage. Also,  keep in mind you can not send from an alias!

When you are done, click “Save” and your aliases are then saved.

If you want to add more aliases, change an alias or delete an alias, go here again and add, change or delete the same way you created one or more aliases.
