Great customer service is so much more than just answering a few emails. The truly good service proves itself by not only offering great qualitative help, but also by being present where the users are requesting assistance. Good support solutions are integrated in products, like the ticket system in the Servage control panel, but taking it a step further, you could even include phone, Facebook, Twitter, email, anywhere the user is. One solution that does this quite well, and is really suitable for small companies, is ZenDesk. So if you're a growing business, check it out. It could increase your customers satisfaction significantly!

When developing Wordpress plugins, it's a common pitfall to access plugin files with direct requests. There are many cases in which you need to access a plugin file's functionality directly, but it shouldn't be by pointing the URL right at the file. Why not? Because you are circumventing some major Wordpress functionality, which you would need to include in an ugly way, which isn't guaranteed to be compatible with future Wordpress versions. You need to use the proper Wordpress mechanisms.
Don't do this:
Access via http://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/myplugin/somefile.php
Include Wordpress in your some file.php with something like require_once('../../../wp-load.php');
Instead you need to let the request go the proper way through Wordpress' request mechanisms.
Do this instead:
Access via ...

It's important for your website performance that you use the database carefully. Inefficient queries can place extreme load on the server, and make your website seem unresponsive or slow. In fact most database server related problems are caused by poorly created queries, that do things more complicated than necessary. Therefore I suggest you take a look at these tips for improvements:
Carefully consider how to design your database. When using an MVC programming pattern, object models are usually a good starting point for the table structure of your database. Remember to use proper keys and indexing for performance. Have a look at this article for further tips.

In this earlier article some online banking interfaces where discussed. In the meantime, Danske Bank has launched an amazing new iPad app, taking online banking to a whole new experience. It's not only beautiful, but also very easy to use. Design and usability has come together quite nicely, making this one of the best apps for it's purpose that I've ever seen.
Other online interfaces could learn a lot from Danske Bank, who have created a synergy between the various access forms of their products. Via browser, mobile or tablet, you have access to a lot of functionality, and paying your bills has never been easier.
Why is it good? ...

Wordfeud is one of those many small little apps for your iPhone that can help kill some time. The difference from many other games is that this is a true multiplayer game, relying on human opponents. Basically it's Scrabble, played over the internet, with a 3 day max-time per turn. If you have a few games going on with different friends, it becomes quite the fun little distraction every now and then. And since it only takes a moment to respond to your turn, it's not even a real time-robber.
The developers describe the game: "A free multiplayer word game for iPhone and Android devices. Challenge your friends or play against random ...
