In the beginning of February I started a little competition, promising 5 years of free hosting among the first 1,000 fans of our Servage Hosting Facebook page – and even 10 years of free hosting if 1,000 fans would be reached already by March 1st 2009. I am happy to see that 350 people have done that so far, and with 9 days to go there still is time to get a total of 1,000 people! So ask around, invite people, get them to join! Or do you want to miss out on the extra free hosting?

Just curious, how are you going to verify fan’s identities? I know you could just search the customer database, but there must be some other method, no?

There is no synchronization of customer and fan data, therefore identifying the winners is old school: They are being asked to provide their username/customer ID via a Facebook message.

How do you find out who to give the 5 years of hosting??
I’ve signed up to the FB group and my username are togsim here at Servage…

We will draw random winners among the fans of the Servage page on Facebook. The winner will be notified via Facebook, so we can find out what customer account gets the free hosting.

Its new accounts or renewal ?
New domain/s will be included ?
Reply by Jakob (Servage) on February 21, 2009 at 16:25
If you are an existing customer we will extend your account if you win free hosting. If you are not yet a customer you simply get an account. In both cases it includes the free domain (and verything else included with the Servage Hosting package).

i am an existing customer of servage if i win can i have anew account and a new domain instead of extending the existing account?
Reply by Jakob (Servage) on February 22, 2009 at 23:46
Yes, we could do that.

With over 450 domains already on 3 accounts it proves Servage can deliver where other hosters would charge the earth!
It is also true to say we can put all these domains on to 1 account and still have the same level of support but we prefer to seperate them into 3 accounts for our own personal reasons.
Servage can handle the bandwidth isues like no other hoster when our sites are being timed for opening it always says the website is 90% faster to open than all other sites on the web!
Support with-in seconds of posting is something else it can not be faulted.
Scripts like blogs, forums, wikis, graphics sites are all included you just go into your control panel and tell it which domain you want it installed on and with in 20 seconds it auto installs it ready to use for the newbie this is an great function and can save lots of time and money plus its always the very latest versions for the best in features and security.
We run many top ranked SEO websites off of Servage.net including the W3C Forum htt*://w3cforum.com so you can see how quickly it opens when most php boards takes longer to open on other hosters.
Security must be the best in the Business and the unlimited email filtering is simply superb.
We can not be happier with Servage they are the greatest and the value for money is out standing.
Thank you Servage.

I just have a question. Judging by the sentence above ” promising 5 years of free hosting among the first 1,000 fans of our Servage Hosting Facebook page “. Does this mean the first 1000 members of the servage facebook group get 5 years of free hosting? Or do only certain people get this benefit. I am just looking for clarification on this.
Reply by Jakob (Servage) on February 22, 2009 at 23:44
It means that some people (random pick) win the free hosting.

I have been with you for about 3 years now and you are by far the best service i have been with… i am now hosting multiple sites with you and am amazed at the level of service. I know that i will never win (and i am NOT just going for the sympathy vote here) but i have still joined the facebook page to show my support for such a great company.
by Aaron Parker on February 23, 2009 at 16:55
Judging by the Poll on the Facebook page that asks how the hosting should be distributed… “1 year free hosting for 5 people” or “5 years free hosting for 1 person” I’d say it’s 5 years hosting that’s being given away using one of those two methods.
Reply by Jakob (Servage) on February 24, 2009 at 08:02
That is exactly right! Unless we get 1,000 fans until March 1st 2009, then we make it 10 years (using the winning method from the vote).

I have already recomended and got registered 2 new accounts to Servage and 1 more account is going to be registered within the next 15 days max (From Chennai, India) and this process will be on throughout.
Thanks a lot to Servage team and as per my knowledge, Servage is the best.

I can’t find anything about the closing date (or I’m just not seeing it).
Is there an official date till when people can join (I know I already did ;-))
Reply by Jakob (Servage) on February 25, 2009 at 16:08
No, it ends when we got 1,000 fans.

Hi
I have signed up for the Facebook page and left a comment … do I need to do anything else to get into this prize draw? :)
I am still happy with Servage – despite the odd hiccup with email (occasionally, some of which is my fault, it has to be said!), Servage is the best host I have tried.
Keep up the good work.

I must say, brilliant idea to get your reputation up ;D

Back when Google first started it may have been possible to rank with keyword- stuffed content but these days it’ s worth your while to appeal to human readers more so than search engines. Sure, it’ s a good idea to utilize keywords in your content but don’ t overdo it. Run the other way if an SEO“ specialist” tells you that your content must have a 15% keyword density or something of the like. Excessive keyword usage can get your site banned from the search engines.
